Hawaii Birthing

Perhaps the most life altering and important day of a family's life is the birth of a child. Our birthing story is designed to show the complete story from belly to birth to baby.

Hawaii Birthing Photography Q & A

Q. What happens if you miss the birth?

A. While we always try to be there for the birth sometimes time does not permit it. If we do not make the birth itself, we will still come to the hospital and capture any in hospital images if possible. Otherwise, we will credit you for a session to be used at a future date.

Q. I want coverage in the hospital but not of the actual birth itself. Will you do that?

A. Absolutely! We respect your boundaries.

Q. What if I go into labor at 2 AM?

A. No problem. Give us a call and let us know. The more notice, the better. Upon arrival ask your doctor how far along you are and when he estimates you'll go into active labor. We generally head to the hospital only after the water has broke, your dilated 5+ centimeters or based upon the doctor's recommendation.

Q. Do you do c-sections?

A. Yes! C-section births are every bit as magical and life changing as any other type of delivery.

Q. I'm having a water birth. Can you capture that?

A. Yes. Naturally, all frames will be taken from out of the water.

Q. Will the birthing images be in color or black & white?

A. Most birthing images are black & white. When in color, they are often desaturated to a softer color space. You can request one or the other or a mixture of both.

Q. Will my images be private or public?

A. While we always love to use the images in our portfolio, we respect your privacy. Your birthing images will be kept private unless you give us permission to use them publicly.

Q. Can I view samples of other births you've done?

A. Hawaii birthing photography is relatively new for us so we don't have a lot of examples to show. The ones we have, the clients have requested we keep them private. When we have more to show where the clients will permit us to use them, we will gladly share them.
